Abstract

The experience of information technology is an important part of the whole learning experience in the university, so analyzing the current status of students ’ information technology experience and its effect on the academic outcomes is also an important way to explore the undergraduate education quality. Through the questionnaire surveys in Nanjing University and Seoul National University, it is found that Chinese students ’ information technology experience greatly differs from each other in gender, family background, hometown, grade and subject. But the story is quite different in Korean samples except for a few differences in the application of information technology. The regression analysis shows that there is a same regression result for both Chinese samples and Korean samples. Specifically, the use of information technology and the positive intention to the information technology play a significant effect on the academic learning outcomes, but the negative intention to the information technology has no significant impact on the academic learning outcomes. On the basis of quantitative analysis and qualitative interview, it is revealed that giving more help and support to vulnerable students in their application of information technology, focusing on enhancing teachers ’ information technology ability, reforming the rigid teaching assessment system and including the information technology ability into the list of students’ learning objectives and evaluation system are the important practical strategies to improve undergraduate information technology experience and enhance students ’ learning outcomes.
