Abstract

A novel hyperbranched polymer cationic antistatic agent P(WHBP- AM- AGE) was synthesized by modified hyperbranched polyester (WHBP), acryl amide (AM) and al yl glycidyl ether (AGE) using ammonium persulfate as initiator. The main factors affecting the properties of P(WHBP- AM- AGE) were studied. The opti-mized process was m(AM)∶m(AGE)∶m(WHBP)=1∶1∶2, 80 ℃ of reaction temperature and 5 h of reaction time with 1.5% initiator (on the mass of monomer). The antistatic agent was applied to polyester fabric and the ef-fects of antistatic agent concentration, baking temperature and time on the antistatic properties were investi-gated. The results indicated that under 25 g/L of antistatic agent, baking at 170 ℃ for 2 min, 0.13 kV of static voltage and 0.09 s of half- time were obtained. After 10 times of washing, the static voltage was 0.48 kV and the half- time was 0.56 s. The SEM and XPS test of treated fabric and washed fabric showed a good durability of the synthesized antistatic agent.
