Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical ef ects of titanium elastic nails (TENs) to Treat the Femoral Shaft Fractures in children. Methods From April 2010 to April 2012,32 children were stabilized with TENs under C-arm observation,including 20 boys and 12 girls at average age of 8 years (range, 4~13years). Al the patients were treated with closed reduction. The average healing time was eight and a half days. Al the patients received the removal of the TENs six months after the surgery and were fol wed up for an average period of 14 months ,including wounds pain,limb length,hip and knee mobility and gait condition. Results Al the fractures were cured without serious complications. There were no postoperative complications like infections,swel ing pain around the nail tail,delayed uion,nonunion,limb deformities, nail broken and adjacent epiphyseal injuries. Unequal limb lengths occurred in 2 patients .But the two patients didn't show any limp and the dysfunctiong of the hip and knee joint.According to the Flynn evaluation standard, the excellent and good rate was 100%. Conclusion Treatment of Femoral Shaft Fractures in children. with Titanium Elastic Nails (TENs) has the advantages of satisfied reduction,reliable fixation,minimal y invasive,fast healing,short healing time,less complications. Futher more ,it is easy to be accepted by parents. TENs is an ideal options for treatment of femoral shaft fractures in children.关键词
