Analysis on Single-phase Short-circuit Performances of Five-phase Fault-tolerant Doubly Salient Electro-magnetic Generators

Abstract
In this paper, the structure characteristics of five-phase doubly salient electro-magnet generators (DSEGs) are analyzed theoretically. The self-inductance and voltage of the short-circuit phase are investigated, the flux linkage, voltage of normal phases and the rectified voltage are analyzed when a single phase short-circuit fault happens under the no-load running condition. Meanwhile, the external and power characteristics of the motor and the short-circuit current are investigated with different exciting currents. The magnetic field of the motor, flux linkage of the short-circuit phase and short currents without load are investigated with armature winding resistances in four different short-circuit moments using finite-element method. The analysis results show that the initial flux linkage value of the short-circuit phase is varied with different short-circuit moments, and the minimum value, maximum value and the variation tendency of flux linkage of the short-circuit phase are irrelevant to the fault moment after 54° electrical degree. Finally, the characteristics of a five-phase 20/16-2 DSEG are verified by the experimental results.关键词
