A High Step-up Voltage Gain DC/DC Converter With Passive Lossless Clamping

Abstract
Affected by the equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the devices in the circuit, the voltage-conversion ratio of the traditional Boost converter is limited. Various topologies have been developed to provide a high step-up voltage gain. A novel transformerless high step-up voltage gain converter has been proposed, with the transition in series and parallel connection of the inductors, an inherent high voltage gain can be achieved. However, this converter has a strict requirement of the parameters’ consistency. Firstly, this paper illustrated the steady-state operation principle under the condition that the parameters are inconsistent. Secondly, this paper discussed the solutions to balance the voltage on the switches and to suppress the resonance. Finally, according to the proposed clamp circuit, a prototype rated at 100 W has been established in the lab, and the experimental results verify the correctness of the analysis.关键词
