Abstract

Integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC)power generation system can adopt pre-combustion CO2 capture methods, handling with less syngas and have low energy consumption, which can achieve near-zero emissions of CO2, resulting in great advantages in terms of CO2 removal. Based on Aspen Plus, combined removal of CO2/H2S (CRCH) and separate removal of CO2/H2S (SRCH) were modeled . Energy consumption, capture efficiency of CO2 and H2S, as well as the regeneration performance of Selexol were analyzed by the two models. The results indicate that:while keeping the same CO2 purity in outlet stream, the energy consumption of CRCH accounts for only 21% of SRCH; the CO2 capture efficiency is higher than that of SRCH, the regeneration performance of Selexol is almost the same for the two processes, and the capture efficiency of H2S in the two processes can be higher than 95%. All those prove that CRCH is more economic than SRCH.
