A comparative evaluation of immediate dental implant with guided bone regeneration versus PRF:an experimental study in the beagle dog

Abstract
Objective:The aim of the study was to compare the bone formation of the bone defect area around immediate dental implant combined with GBR and with PRF. Methods: This study was carried out on six beagle dogs. Six implants were placed in 2P2, 3P3 and 4P4 regions in each dog immediately after tooth extraction. The width of the bone defect between the mesial wall of the mesial root socket and the implant was 3~4 mm. The bone defect area was disposed with GBR (A group) and was filled with PRF (B group). After 3 months of healing, the dogs were sacrificed and prepared for histological analysis of bone to implant contact and new bone formation. Results:The bone defect area around the implant was filled with new bone in both group A and B. No statistically significant difference of the percentage of new bone formation and bone-to-implant contact ration (BIC) were observed among two groups. Conclusion: Limited in this study, the bone formation ability of the bone defect area around immediate dental implant combined with GBR and with PRF was basically the same.关键词
