Abstract
Objective To discuss the application value of cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)before removal of impacted mandibular third molars(IMTM). Methods Totally 55 patients with 60 wisdom teeth by conventional imag-ing methods in the diagnosis of impacted lower row were examined by CBCT. According to the imaging data provided by CBCT,we determined the circumstances surrounding the IMTM and the turbine drill was used to separate the tooth and IMTM extracted. Results Totally 50 patients did not have inferior alveolar nerve injury. Conclusion CBCT imaging methods,compared to traditional imaging,are clearer and more accurate in positioning,and are especially better for the buccolingual display of position relationship. For the low-order IMTM,CBCT examination should be performed in order to avoid damage to the adjacent tooth structure during the teeth extraction.关键词
