Abstract
Chuanyan 1, a new male-sterile hybrid variety, was developed from MS Zhongyan 100 as female and Yunyan85 as male parent. The plants grew much more uniformly and strongly in the field. It was easier to be cured. It was moderately resistant to bacterial wilt and brown spot, moderately susceptible to root-knok nematode, TMV, and PVY, and susceptible to CMV. Its main economic characters were superior to the contrast variety (K326). Its main quality characters were equivalent to or slightly higher than K326. The cured leaves were mainly in orange color, with loose structure, medium body, oily to rich in gummy, strong to color intensity. Chuanyan 1 demonstrated better appearance quality than K326, and had favorable chemical components in harmonious proportion, with higher contents of potassium, yet lower contents of nicotine, total nitrogen and chloride ion. The level of sensory quality was slightly higher than that of K326. Chuanyan 1 was good in quality, yield and disease resistance. It passed the Chinese tobacco variety evaluation in 2012.关键词
