Abstract
Objective:To observe clinical effect between calcium hydroxide paste and formaldehyde cresol.Method:One hundred and twenty-seven patients with chronic periapical periodontitis(152 teeth)in our hospital from June 2010 to December 2012 were selected.They were divided into the observation group for 66 cases and the control group for 61 cases according to the patients of different root canal disinfection drugs.The observation group was treated with calcium hydroxide paste,the control group was treated with formaldehyde cresol.The treatment efficiency of two groups was observed, at the same time pain during root canal therapy(Endodontic interappointment pain,EIP)incidence and pain visual analog scale(VAS)score were compared.Result:After treatment,the total efficiency of the observation group was 98.67%,it was significantly higher than that in control group(94.81%);the incidence rate of EIP was 8.00%,it was significantly lower than the control group(18.18%);and after 48 h treatment,VAS scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment,while VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared to formaldehyde cresol,calcium hydroxide paste can significantly less EIP incidence and reduce pain.关键词
