Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of Orem self-care theory under high quality nursing service mode on the self-care ability and the satisfaction index in elderly patients. Methods 196 patients treated in our ward were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The patients in control group were under conventional methods of nursing, including physiological nursing, psychological nursing and symptomatic care. The patients in experimental group were done with the model of Orem self-care based on the conventional nursing. The ability of self-care and the satisfaction index of patients in each group were compared before discharge. Results In experimental group, the ADL score was significantly lower than that of the control group, and satisfaction index was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The Orem self-care theory under high quality nursing service mode can significantly improve the self-care ability and the satisfaction index of elderly patients.关键词
