Abstract
Objective To evaluate the preventive caries effect of pit and fissure sealant. Methods 56 cases of children in our dental clinic were treated as research subjects in the upper molars for sealant Paragraph 1, and selected the same on the opposite side of children, Paragraph 1 molars as the control group, without fissure closed. Reservations of pit and fissure sealant were observed in the experiment group with 3-year follow-up, and the incidence of caries was observed between the two groups. Results After treatment for 3 years, the retention rates of pit and fissure sealant in the experiment group were 94.8%, 89.6%, 84.8% after 1, 2 and 3 years of the fissure sealing, respectively. The retention rates of pit and fissure sealant did not have significant difference in 3 years; the incidence of caries in the experimental group were 1.9%, 2.8%, 4.0% after 1, 2, and 3 years, respectively, when the incidence of caries in the control group were 8.9%, 16.0%, 29.3%, respectively, there were significant differences in the caries rate between the experiment group and the control group. Conclusion Pit and fissure sealant technology is relatively simple, low cost, can play an effective role in the prevention of dental caries.关键词
