Abstract
Objective To analyze and discuss the clinical efficacy of ambroxol hydrochloride and dexamethasone for treatment of secretory otitis media. Methods 85 patients with secretory otitis media admitted and treated in our hospital from Jun 2012 to Jun 2013 were selected and assigned to the treatment group (43 cases) and the control group (42 cases). All the patients were given routine treatment. The treatment group was given ambroxol hydrochloride mixed with dexamethasone while the control group was given dexamethasone injection alone. Results The two groups had significant difference in therapeutic response rate (P<0.05). The two groups also had significant difference in elevation of air conduction hearing ability measured by pure tone audiometry after treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion Intratympanic injection of ambroxol hydrochloride and dexamethasone demonstrates good clinical efficacy, safety, reliability and simple operation for treatment of secretory otitis media, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.关键词
