Abstract
Obejctive:To assess the treatment outcomes of acupuncture and moxibustion plus herbal hot com -press for managing primary dysmenorrhea .Methods:Ninety patients with primary dysmenorrhea were randomly allocated into a treatment group and a control group ,with 45cases in each group ,the treatment group was man-aged by acupuncture and moxibustion plus herbal hot compress , and the control group received Ibuprofen (slow-release capsule) for treatment.One menstrual cycle made up a treatment course ,continuously treating for three periods .Results:At the end of the first treatment course , compared between two groups VAS decreased in both groups , and the control group was significantly lower than the treatment group .There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups ( P<0 .05 ); at the end of the third treatment session , it showed significant differences in comparison of recovery and total effective rates between the two groups ( P<0 .05 );the comparison of relapse rate made at the end of the third treatment session also showed a significant difference be -tween two groups ( P<0 .05 ) .Conclusion:Acupuncture and moxibustion plus herbal hot compress is a conven -ient and effective approach for treating primary dysmenorrheal .关键词
