Abstract
Objective To investigate serum levels of IL- 33 and IL- 5 in patients with al ergic rhinitis (AR) and bronchial asthma (BA). Methods The study included 43 patients with AR, 41 patients with BA, 39 patients with AR combined with BA and 40 healthy subjects (control group). The serum levels of IL- 33 and IL- 5 were measured by ELISA. Results The levels of IL- 33 and IL- 5 in AR group, BA group and AR+BA group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05). Among al patients, IL- 33 and IL- 5 levels in AR+BA were the highest, fol owed by those in AR group and BA group. Serum IL- 33 level was positively correlated with IL- 5 (r=0.254, P<0.05). Conclusion The results indicate that IL- 33 and IL- 5 might be involved in the pathogenesis of AR and BA.关键词
