Abstract
Objective To explore the effectiveness of TP induction chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy for patients of local advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods A total of 108 cases of local advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma were in-cluded in this study. Fifty-five cases were treated with TP induction chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy as the union group, whereas other fifty-three cases were treated merely with radiotherapy as control group. Nasopharyngeal lesions, neck lymph node metastasis and pain relief were observed and compared between two groups. Results The nasopharyngeal lesions, metas-tasizing neck lymph nodes and cancer pain were all relieved in different degrees in the union group and the effectiveness were superior to that of control group. Differences had statistical significance between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion TP induction chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy has better short-term effectiveness than simple radiotherapy. It can effectively relieve pain of patients and could be further applied in clinic.关键词
