Foreignization as the Major Strategy in Chinese-English Publicity Translation

摘要

Abstract

Based on the fundamental translation principle of faithfulness and functional equivalence,with the help of the concepts of foreignization and domestication of translation in general,and in the light of the purpose of Chi-nese-English publicity translation,firstly it discusses some features of new culture-specific expressions in pub-licity materials,then suggests and illustrates the specific principle and strategies as well for Chinese -English publicity translation.Lastly,it puts emphasis on foreignization,and aluay adapts the combination of foreignization and domestication,as well as domestication occasionally.This should be the right way for Chinese-English pub-licity translation.
