Abstract
Xixiayuan Project is the second dam built on the soft rock foundation in China. The soft rock foundation has such key issues as lacking basic capacity,poor stability against sliding,great difficulty on anti-seepage and so on. The foundation treatment will determine whether the project is safe or not during the construction period and operation period. This paper summarized the geology of the soft rock foundation of Xixiayuan pro-ject,and discussed the methods of foundation treatment,the layout of safety monitoring instruments and the analysis of the observational data. In addition,the study analyzed the settlement course of the composite foundation by utilizing the method of layered settlement analysis. The results show that the foundation treatment is appropriate. It can provide a new experience on construction of dam and other large water conservancy projects on soft rock foundation.关键词
