Abstract
Objective To investigate the differential diagnostic value of magnetic resonance diffusion weighted imaging (MRDWI) for parotid masses.Methods MRI and DWI data of 64 patients (76 lesions) pathologically proven with parotid gland tumors were retrospectively analyzed.The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of region of interest (ROI) in the masses were measured on MRDWI.All data were statistically analyzed.The data between each two groups were compared using two independent samples t test,and P <0.05 was considered to indicate a statistical difference.Results The mean values of ADC were (0.998±0.264)× 103mm2/s,(0.753±0.135)× 10-3mm2/s,and (1.215±0.197) × 103mm2/s in 15 cases of carcinomas,cases of Warthin tumors and benign lymphoepithelial lesions,and others benign tumors in these 76 masses,respectively,with statistical differences between each two groups (P <0.05).Given ADC threshold value was 0.795× 10-3 mm2/s in differentially diagnosing carcinomas from Warthin tumors and lymphoepithelial lesions,the sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing malignant tumors were 66.7% and 72.7%.Given ADC threshold value was 1.10× 10-3 mm2/s in differentially diagnosing carcinomas from other benign tumors,the sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing malignant tumors were 66.7% and 64.7%.Given ADC threshold value was 1.064× 10-3 mm2/s in differentially diagnosing Warthin tumors and benign lymphoepithelial lesions from other benign tumors,the sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing Warthin tumors and benign lymphoepithelial lesions were 97.7% and 94.1%.Conclusion Measuring the ADC values on DWI contributes to the diagnosis of parotid masses.关键词
