Abstract
Objective To investigate the detection of tumor cells in peripheral circulation in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and its clinical significance.Methods 80 patients with SCLC treated in the Department of Oncology at Yongzhou Central Hospital from August,2011 to August,2014 were selected as an observation group and 50 patients with benign lung disease a control group.7.5 ml peripheral blood was collected from the patients respectively.Density gradient centrifugation method and Quantitative Real-time Reverse Transcription-PCR method were used to detect the CTC expression with cytokeratin-19 positive in the two groups before and two cycles after the chemotherapy.Then the relationship between clinical features and chemical effect was analyzed.Results CTC expression was detected in 56 cases in the observation group,with a positive rate of 70%,and in no one in the control group,with a statistical difference between the two groups (P<0.05).CTC expression correlated with clinical stages and recurrence (P<0.05),but not with gender,age,organization type,smoking,and degree of differentiation (P>0.05).Before the chemotherapy,CTC expression was detected in 56 cases;after two cycles chemotherapy,CTC expression was detected in 24 cases;with a statistical difference (P<0.05).After two cycles chemotherapy,there were no statistical differences in chemotherapy effects between the evaluations of CTC numbers and Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (x 2=0.002,P>0.05).CTC expression correlated with the clinical efficacy (r=-0.025,P=0.041).Conclusions The positive rate of CTC correlates with the clinical stages and recurrence and negatively with chemotherapy effect.The positive rate of CTC can predict the chemotherapy effects in SCLC.关键词
