Abstract
Objective To investigate the protective effects ofβ‐seven sodium saponin on cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion inju‐ry in rat.Methods 74 healthy Sprague‐Dawley rats were selected and divided into sham operation group ,ischemia reperfusion (IR) group ,the treatment group. The preparation of focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion model was made. After 48 h reperfu‐sion ,the volume of cerebral infarction ,cerebral edema ,detection of neurological function score ,NISSL staining ,TUNEL stai‐ning and caspase‐3 activity were tested.Results After treatment ,the volume of cerebral infarction was significantly decreased (17 ± 8)%. In I/R group ,the brain water content was significantly increased compared to the normal control and sham opera‐tion group ,while the cerebral water content decreased significantly treated with seven sodium saponin. Compared with the sham operation group ,the TUNEL positive cells in the cortex and hippocampus of I/R group increased significantly ,whileβ‐seven sodium saponin treatment could significantly reduce the number of TUNEL positive cells. Caspase‐3 in the cortex and hippocampus activity of treatment group was significantly lower than that in I/R group. Conclusion β‐Seven sodium saponin treatment can effectively reduce the volume of cerebral infarction ,brain edema ,manifested as nerve function is improved , w hich may be related to treatment can increase the survival number of neurons and inhibit neuronal apoptosis (apoptosis related enzyme activity).关键词
