摘要
Abstract
The eighth elder sister is a character in Big Breasts ans Wise Hips by MO Yan, a winner of Nobel Prize for Litera-ture. Compared with other images of “superfluous person” in the history of Chinese and western literature, she has distinctive weird features. She was born blind in poverty and wars; she cannot survive and has to commit suicide for the stupidity and cruelty of human beings. Her tragic fate is worth reflection: human beings need to build a kind society.关键词
