Abstract
Metaphorisnotsimplyaphenomenonoflanguage .Fromthebasicthinkingofhumanbeings ,itisakindofmeans by which we recognize and express the world .Metaphors have been widely used in every field of our life ,including the field of English teaching .From the perspective of the nature of metaphors ,the essay mainly introduced the application of metaphors in English vocabulary teaching ,the reading teaching and the cultural teaching ,and it also discussed the enlightenment of the use of metaphor in English teaching .关键词
