Abstract
Michael Cunningham’s novel The Hours accounted for a large proportion of death writing ,that mainly reflected in the delicate description on the death of Virginia Woolf and Richard ,as well as on the submarine and desolate death prospect . There are two reasons for death writing ,the one is the interpretation of death beauty ,and the other one is the self-examination on the universal dilemma of human existence .Death writing implicates the concern to female mental predicament and the positive sig-nificance of defeating sufferings and beyond the death .In this way ,The Hours gains a strong realistic spirit and a warm humanis-tic care .关键词
