Abstract

ABSTRACT:Based on the surface strengthening technology of auto parts such as the traditional carburizing, nitriding, and sur-face quenching process, research status and application of traditional process for surface strengthening of auto parts were briefly re-viewed. Advantages and disadvantages of traditional process in applications were pointed out, the new surface deformation strength-ening, high-energy beam surface strengthening, surface spray coating strengthening, surface compound strengthening and surface nano-strengthening of auto parts were expounded emphatically. The technical characteristics and application status of the currently widely used new shot peening of surface deformation strengthening, laser and electron beam surfacing quenching process of high-en-ergy beams for surface strengthening and plasma spray coating of surface spray coating strengthening were introduced in detail. The research progress and process characteristics of compound strengthening technology of auto part surface and surface nano-strengthe-ning technology at home and abroad were analyzed, especially the application of compound strengthening technology in auto part surface strengthening, such as combination of traditional process and traditional process, traditional process and new technology, new technology and new technology as well as QPQ compound technology. In the end, the development of surface strengthening technology for auto parts was prospected.
