摘要

Abstract

An automated optical inspection method and application for the surface defect inspection of LCD backlight module is presented. The imaging techniques,inspection system composition,mechanical and electric control system prin-ciple,and design methods are systematically illustrated. The review inspection method of non-conforming parts and repair strategy are also given. The typical types of the LCD backlight module defects and the defect classification criterions are listed. The wide variety of backlight module surface defects are categorized into three types:the picture defects,the ap-pearance of defects and abnormalities defects. Two AOI detection methods,lighting method and non-lighting method,are introduced according to the causes and types of the defects. The AOI technique given is expected to have a beneficial ref-erence value for the industrial development of the defect detection system for LCD backlight modules.
