Research on the Direct Power Control for STATCOM Based on the Virtual Flux Li nkage

Abstract
The H-bridge cascaded connection based static synchronous compensators ( STATCOM) has been mainly studied in this paper.The principle of virtual flux observer and the direct power control algorithm based on the virtual flux linkage has been analyzed.The integration element in flux observer has been improved and the cascaded inertial element has been adopted instead to eliminate the steady state error.The DC side voltage imbalance factors are ana-lyzed in the view of power conservation, and a distributed DC voltage control algorithm has been introduced.The sim-ulation results show that the direct power control method based on virtual flux linkage has been dynamic property, and the control algorithm in DC side is correct.Finally, the control strategy is verified in a three level chain STATCOM system with VME control box as its core controller, and the experimental results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the algorithm.关键词
