An Improved Balance Control for Sub-Module Capacitor Voltage of Modular Multilevel Converter
摘要
Abstract
To decrease switching action times of sub-module and reduce converter power dissipation, an improved balance control method for sub-module capacitor voltage of modular multi-level converter (MMC) is proposed. Adopting the nearest level modulation, within each control cycle two sub-modules, which are in switching-on and switching-off conditions, are ordered respectively according to the value of capacitor voltage; based on the number of sub-modules to be put into operation and that being operated at present, the states of switching-on and switching-off sub-modules are changed; according to the preset allowable deviation of capacitor voltage and the number of substitutable sub-modules the sub-modules in switching-on and switching-off states are swapped. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by simulation results.关键词
