A Maximum Entropy Based Probabilistic Method to Assess Feeder Harmonics

Abstract
Bus harmonic current is the vector sum of harmonic currents in feeders. Since the harmonic current in each feeder possesses unequal proportion of the bus harmonic current, so it may occur that the harmonic current content in individual feeder is out of the range although the monitored bus harmonic current is still within its normal range. For this reason, a probabilistic method to assess the harmonics in feeders is proposed to rapidly assess harmonic conditions of feeders. Based on the maximum entropy principle, the joint probability density function of feeder harmonic current distribution coefficient is deduced and a mathematical model, which can reflect that all harmonic currents in feeders are within the specified limit, is established and solved, and a probabilistic curve is plotted to represent that there is at least a feeder, in which the harmonic current exceeds the limit. The results of the proposed method is compared with the results obtained by quail-Monte Carlo integration and the results from case study, comparison results show that the proposed method is effective.关键词
