Abstract

In order to evaluate the efficacy of oxymatrine-Astragalus polysaccharide(OTM-APS)against Newcastle disease virus (NDV)infection,The prevention efficacy of compound on Newcastle disease was evaluated.One hundred and fifty 14 days old Roman cocks without vaccination were randomly divided into 5 groups.the chickens in groups 1,2 and 3 were first intranasally administrated by NDV-Ⅳ vaccine.At the same time,the cocks in groups 1,2 and 3 were orally administrated with OTM-APS compounds of high,middle and low doses,respectively.Group 4 was vaccine control and Group 5 was blank control. Cocks in group 4 was vaccinated by vaccine and taken physiological saline,once a day for three days.The cocks were boost vaccinated at 28 days old.The concentrations of IL-2 and IFN-γin the sera of cocks in the 5 groups were detected by double antibody sandwich ELISA at 14,28 and 42 days old.The results showed that the concentrations of IL-2 and IFN-γin sera of the cocks treated with medicine were significantly high-er than that of the cocks in the vaccine control group (P <0.05).It indicated that OTM-APS compound could significantly strengthen the immune response of chickens to Newcastle disease vaccine and enhance the resistance against the disease..
