Effects of Dietary Riboflavin Level on Laying Performance, Egg Quality, Blood Biochemical and Antioxidant Parameters of Laying Ducks in Cage

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to study the effects of dietary riboflavin level on laying perform-ance, egg quality, blood biochemical and antioxidant parameters of laying ducks in cage. A total of 504 health-y Fujian Longyan laying ducks with similar body weight were randomly allotted into 7 groups with 6 replicates per group and 12 ducks per replicate. Ducks in the 7 groups were fed experimental diets supplemented with 0 ( group Ⅰ) , 3 ( group Ⅱ) , 6 ( group Ⅲ) , 9 ( group Ⅳ) , 12 ( group Ⅴ) , 15 ( group Ⅵ) and 18 mg/kg (group Ⅶ) riboflavin, respectively. The experiment lasted for 12 weeks. The results showed as follows: 1) dietary riboflavin level did not significant affect the laying performance of laying ducks ( P>0.05) , but the lay-ing rate, average egg weight, daily egg weight and the ratio of feed to egg got the best effect in group Ⅲ. 2) The albumen height in groupⅢ was significantly higher than that in other groups except groupⅡ ( P<0.05) , the Haugh unit in groupⅢwas significantly higher than that in groupsⅠ,ⅤandⅥ( P<0.05) . The yolk col-or was showed an increased tend with the increasing of dietary riboflavin level ( P=0.08) . 3) Dietary ribofla-vin level significantly affect blood T lymphocyte proliferation rate ( P<0.05) , with the increased of dietary ri-boflavin level, the plasma riboflavin content firstly increased and then decreased, and the erythrocyte glutathi-one reductase activity coefficient firstly decreased and then increased. 4) Dietary riboflavin level significant af-fect liver and plasma total superoxide dismutase activity and liver xanthine oxidase activity ( P<0.05) . In con-clusion , the laying ducks can get better performance and egg quality when dietary supplemental level of ribofla-vin is 6 mg/kg. The antioxidant function of the laying ducks was improved with the increasing of dietary ribo-flavin level, and the supplemental level of riboflavin is suggested more than 12 mg/kg.关键词
