摘要

Abstract

An improved clamping double sub-module was put forward on the basis of the clamping double sub-module,and applied in modular multi-level converter (MMC ).It uses the running sub-modules to charge the redundant sub-module to ensure that the redundant sub-module’s DC voltage has been charged to the rated voltage before the redundant module replacing the faulty module.The improved clamping double sub-module was used in MMC simulation to find that the process for the redundant module replacing the faulty module is very short and it has no impact on the output current and voltage waveform.Hence,the proposed strategy is valid and feasible.
