摘要

Abstract

In order to study the reason of the day-to-day variability of L-band ionospheric scintillations at Guilin,the influ-ences of equatorial ionization anomaly (EIA)features along 110°E longitude on the day-to-day variability of L-band iono-spheric scintillations at Guilin (geographic coordinates:25.29°N,110.33°E;geomagnetic coordinates:15.04°N,181.98°E) have been investigated under quiet geomagnetic conditions on the basis of L-band ionospheric scintillations data obtained by an ionospheric scintillation monitor GSV4004 installed at Guilin and the global vertical total electron content (VTEC)data provided by the international GNSS service (IGS).The results show that the EIA features along 110°E longitude in scintilla-tion days are very different from those in non-scintillation days.The resurgence-like features of EIA during the post-sunset period are much more pronounced in scintillation days.Namely,VTEC at the crest of EIA is larger in scintillation days,the ratio of VTEC crest to VTEC trough is larger in scintillation days,the VTEC gradient in the regions between VTEC crest and trough is larger in scintillation days,the duration of the resurgence-like features of EIA lasts longer in scintillation days, and the latitude of the north crest of the resurgent EIA is higher in scintillation days.
