Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of combining Bifidobacterium quadruple viable piece with body massage on preterm infants'feeding intolerance and early development.Methods From January 2010 to October 2013 92 preterm infants needing intermittent tube feeding were admitted in neonatal wards in Jinxiang Hospital Affiliated to Jining Medical College.They were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 46 in each.The treatment group was provided with body massage combined with Bifidobacterium quadruple viable piece, and the feeding intolerance and development related indexes were recorded.Results Seven days after treatment, the effective rate of feeding intolerance was 76.1% ( 35/46 ) in the treatment group and 43.5% ( 20/46 ) in the control group, respectively.The difference was significant (χ2 =10.18, P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the breastfeeding initiation was earlier, the initiation quantity was larger, and the time for whole gastrointestinal feeding through mouth was shorter in the treatment group ( t value was 4.79, 4.82 and 4.11, respectively, all P<0.05) .The time return to birth weight was remarkably shorter but the extent of head circumference increase and the body weight at 14 d were greater in the treatment group than the control group ( t value was 5.16, 3.65 and 5.04, respectively, all P<0.05).Conclusion The body massage combined with Bifidobacterium quadruple viable piece has an important influence on feeding intolerance of preterm infants.It can promote gastrointestinal mature, reduce the occurrence of feeding intolerance symptoms, and promote infants’ growth and development.关键词
