Abstract

Objective To analyze various relevant factors that contribute to the development of the biochemical pregnancy or the clinical pregnancy after the IVF-ET in order to identify the factors related to the biochemical pregnancy. Methods Clinical data on 55 cycles of biochemical pregnan-cies and 100 cycles of clinical pregnancies were analyzed retrospectively. Step-wise logistic regression analysis was done to compare exposed influence factors between the two groups. Results Male age, primary or secondary infertility, use of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist in assisted reproduc-tion cycles, ratio of fertilization, basic antral follicle count (AFC) and spontaneous abortion were the significant influence factors for biochemical pregnancies ( P ﹤ 0. 05) . Furthermore, it was found that the basic AFC and the history of spontaneous abortion were the independent factors for bi-ochemical pregnancy. Conclusion The occurrence of biochemical pregnancy in the IVF-ET treat-ment is affected by the age, ovarian reserve, ovarian hyperstimulation program and history of spon-taneous abortion etc.
