Abstract
Objective:To explore the serum lipid profile of patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and the role of the lipids in the occurrence of stroke in PD patients. Methods: A retrospective study was performed on PD patients (PD group, n=161), healthy controls (HC group, n=161) and acute cerebral infarction patients (CI group, n=161). The levels of serum lipid profile, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), were compared in the three groups and binary logistic regression was used to analyze the differences of variables in PD and CI groups. Results: The TG and LDL-C levels were significantly lower in the PD group than those in the HC group and CI group (P<0.05). The LDL-C level was higher in the PD group than that in the CI group (P<0.05). The occurrence of patients with hypertension and dia-betes in the PD group was lower than those in the CI group (P<0.05). Binary Logistic regressions showed that HDL-C, LDL-C, history of hypertension and diabetes were risk factors of the occurrence of stroke in PD patients. Conclusion: PD patients show lower levels of TG and LDL-C and higher HDL-C level than those in acute cerebral infarction patients. High level of HDL-C and low level of LDL-C may be risk factors of stroke in PD patients.关键词
