Abstract
Objective: To analyze the polysomnography (PSG) in patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Meth-ods: Fifty-three AD patients and 25 age and sex-matched healthy controls were detected by PSG and the sleep indi-cators and sleep architectures were compared. At the same time, AD patients were measured by mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and were divided into 3 groups according to the scores of MMSE, mile dementia (21~26), moderate dementia (10~20) and severe dementia (0~9). Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the correla-tion between the reduction of REM sleep time and the severity of dementia. Results: Compared with the control group, the total wake time increased, the sleep efficiency, sleep latency and REM sleep time decreased in the AD group (P<0.05). The severity of dementia was paralleled with the reduction degree of REM sleep time. Conclusion:AD patients show abnormal sleep indicators and sleep architecture with increased total wake time and decreased sleep efficiency, sleep latency and REM sleep time. The severity of dementia is paralleled with the reduction degree of REM sleep time.关键词
