Abstract

Objective To explore the change of micro-current and the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor( EGFR) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues ,and to investigate the significance of micro-current and EGFR for the differentiation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma .Methods The micro-current detector and immunohistochemistry were used to detect micro-current and EGFR level in 37 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues and 15 cases of nasopharyngeal mucosae with chronic inflammation.Results The positive rates of micro-current and EGFR in nasopharyngeal carcinomas group were 70 .3% and 13 .3%, respectively , which were higher than those in nasopharyngeal mucosae with chronic inflammation group ( P<0 .05 ) .The positive rate of EGFR in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with lymphatic metastasis was significantly higher than that without metastasis ( P<0 .05 ) .Conclusion The detection of micro-current contributes to the verification of the nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues and non -nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues.Micro-current and EGFR don′t correlate with the differentiation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma .
