Decoloration Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Bromate in Drinking Water whith the Brilliant Cresyl Blue

摘要

Abstract

A new Decoloring spectrophotometric method for determining Trace Bromate was developed. It was based on the oxidation of Brilliant cresyl blue(BCB)by bromate in a dilute acidic solution of HCl(1+1). This method was operated in the room temperature. The optimum experiment condition for the determination was found. The detection limit for Bromate was 4.16×10-5g/L;the determined regression equation wasΔA=0.2053CBrO3-+0.0052, r=0.9993, the linear range of the determina⁃tion was 0.0~3.0μg/mL with the absorbance measured at 630nm. The method was applied to the determination of trace bro⁃mate in drinking water with satisfactory results.
