Abstract
Objective To evaluate the value of urine lipoarabinomannan (LAM) assay in diagnosis of tuberculo-sis. Methods Papers of urine LAM assay in diagnosis of tuberculosis were collected. The pooled sensitivity, specificity and other diagnostic indexes in the study were calculated. Summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve was drawn, and the area under the curve was also calculated. Results Twelve research papers were included in the meta-a-nalysis. The pooled sensitivity of urine LAM assay in diagnosis of tuberculosis was 0. 53, and 95℅ confidence interval (CI) was 0. 51 -0. 56; pooled specificity was 0. 91, and 95℅ CI was 0. 90 -0. 92; positive likelihood ratio was 6. 28 with 4. 11 -9. 61 of 95℅ CI, while negative likelihood ratio was 0. 50 with 0. 36 - 0. 69 of 95℅ CI; diagnostic odds ratio was 14. 84 with 7. 94 -27. 74 of 95℅ CI. The area under the curve of SROC was 0. 85. Conclusion Urine lipoarabinomannan assay plays a certain role in diagnosis of tuberculosis, and may be a useful important diagnostic index for tuberculosis.关键词
