Abstract
Thermal and flow resistances are two important parameters for the heat sinks used in power semiconductor devices.Design method of a thermal and flow resistances test system for air cooled heat sinks has been introduced in this paper.The maximum size of the test section is 500 mm×250 mm.The size of the test section is adjustable.The maximum speed of air flow is 15 m/s,while the maximum pressure drop of the heat sink being test is 800 Pa.Aerodynamic structure of the wind tunnel is designed as a low speed straight flow type.The power section is placed at the entrance of the tunnel.Following it,they are expansion section,stable section,contraction section,and testing section.The total length of the wind tunnel including test section is 5.2 m.The contraction ratio of the wind tunnel is 5.76.The aerodynamic calculating results show that the energy loss of the wind tunnel is 201 Pa.The input power of the wind tunnel is 1.9 kW.With a drawer-like plate component design,the size of the test section is adjustable.The adjustable plate component is composed with a horizontal plate and two vertical plates, and it is placed in the testing section box.The horizontal and vertical plates are connected by guide slots on the horizontal plate.The distance between the two vertical plates can be varied to any size in a certain range.The vertical plates are designed as several sizes,which makes it possible for measurements of sinks in several different heights.关键词
