Abstract
The flame retardant ABS composites were prepared through melt blending with hydrophobic MH nano-particles and BPS/Sb2 O3 as composite flame retardants. The surface morphology and thermal properties of ABS, ABS/MH and ABS/MH/BPS/ Sb2 O3 composites were studied through SEM and TG respectively,and the mecha-nism was analysised. The results showed that:the thermal stability and the degradation activation energy of ABS were higher than that of ABS/MH/BPS/Sb2 O3 , but lower than that of ABS/MH. When MH was used alone, it worked in the condensed phase,and the degradation activation energy was increased. But when the composite flame retardant was used,Br-Sb system with higher efficiency played the main role in the gas phase,which led to the de-cline of the degradation activation energy.关键词
