Abstract
The ratio of defects of self-shielded flux cored wire semi-auto welding (FCAW) was analyzed statistically on the base of welding procedure qualification of X80 girth welds. The morphology of typical defects was investigated by optical metallographic microscope (OM) and field emission scanning electron microscope (SEM). And the components of slag inclusion in the defects were tested by energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS) analysis. The results showed that the probability of defects for FCAW is high. The defects that come into being at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock are more than at 9 o’clock. The typical defects for FCAW are slag inclusions, incomplete fusion and porosity. And the appearances of these defects are cavity, in which the slag inclusions are found. In order to assure the safety of the pipeline running, the effective measures had be propsed.关键词
