Abstract

Intelligent integrated atmospheric sampler was used to collect atmospheric PM and PM samples in Huzhou city of 10 2.5 the southern Taihu Lake Area. High performance liquid chromatography method was adopted to detect 16 kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the samples. Indicators such as carcinogenic equivalent concentration of benzo (a) pyrene (BaP), population lifetime excess cancer risk and loss of life expectancy were used to evaluate the population health risk caused by PAHs in the atmospheric PM in Huzhou City. The results showed that the total annual average concentration of PAHs in the atmospheric PM was2.5 2.5 11.59 ng/m and the range of seasonal average concentration was 4.775~23.98 ng/m , indicating a certain variation with seasonal change. That was, the seasonal average concentration was highest in winter, followed by autumn, spring and summer in a descending order. The 3 3 annual average of total carcinogenic equivalent concentration of benzo (a) pyrene (BaP) was 1.138 ng/m . The adult and children lifetime 3 excess cancer risks caused by pollution were 8.7×10 and 6.0×10 respectively and the loss of adult life expectancy was 44.5 min.
