Abstract
The nonlinear static pushover analysis procedure is now widely used as a simple method to estimate the inelastic seismic response for building structures. However, the accuracy of the method still needs to be validated because of the inherent limitations in its theory. Besides, there are some limitations on the application of this method. In this paper, the influence of lateral load patterns on the results of static pushover analysis has been studied. The static pushover analysis with four different lateral load patterns was applied to a tall building of 24 stories. It is demonstrated that the analysis results may vary significantly under different lateral load patterns. In terms of the analysis results, feasibility load pattern is more reasonable.关键词
