The Influence of Chinese Taoist on Japanese Onmyodo An example of faith in Taishan Fujun in Onmyodo
摘要
Abstract
The faith in Dongyue originated from the worship of Taishan God and later became the rep-resentation,which has a long history and multiple connotations in China.Japanese Onmyodo learned from the faith in Dongyue of Taoism and worshiped eight million Gods led by “Taishan Fujun”,making the faith in Taishan Fujun penetrate into all kinds of ritual activities in Japan.Sacrificial offering to Taishan Fujun, which originally belonged to the Onmyodo Tsuchimikado,has now evolved into a grand national ritual. This paper takes the faith in Taishan Fujun in Onmyodo as an example to explore how Dongyue beliefs of Taoist and its multiple connotations spread and impact the Japanese culture.关键词
