On the Inherent Contradiction and Enlightenments of Adam Smith's Benevolence Virtue
摘要
Abstract
Benevolence is one of the four basic moralities in Adam Smith’s virtue theory,which,along with j ustice,aims at promoting the happiness of others.Adam Smith’s benevolence virtue presents inher-ent contradiction,which is mainly reflected in two aspects:the first part is the asymmetry between Adam Smith’s benevolence virtue valuation and its role in society;the second part is the internal contradiction between voluntary and mandatory of benevolence virtue.The inherent contradition of Adam Smith’s be-nevolence virtue has brought great illumination to the development of modern society.关键词
