摘要

Abstract

By comparing various methods to define the ultimate bearing capacity for structural analysis,the fi-nite element method was proposed for numerical simulation of the cave roof ultimate bearing capacity.The thickness of the cave roof,the thickness and modulus of the covering soil,and the dimension of the raft foun-dation were investigated as factors that affect the ultimate bearing capacity of the cave though a number of finite element models.Some empirical data obtained may be useful for the field practice.
