Abstract
This paper extended the FEM optimization model to space steel frames based on the sequence line-ar programming ( SLP) and affine-scaling dual algorithm. The member size was taken as the optimization variables and the minimal weight was the optimization objective. The optimum design was implemented by considering multiple constraints, including the strength and stability of members nodal displacement, and sto-ry-drift ratio. A simple example was presented to show the feasibility of the optimization method. The perform-ance of the algorithm under the active control to the stress and displacement constraints was proved by means of scaling the constraints. Moreover, the optimal design was carried on with a more complicated model, consider-ing multiple restrictions of design codes, which further verified the optimization algorithm.关键词
