Abstract
Objective To study the impact of levonorgestrel releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS)on liver function, blood lipid and sex hormone levels in patients with adenomyosis and evaluate its safety in order to guide clinical ap-plication. Methods Forty-three patients with adenomyosis were treated by LNG-IUS.The change of liver function in-cluding alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST),blood lipid containing total cholesterol(TC), high density lipoprotein(HDL),low density lipoprotein(LDL),serum sex hormone levels including follicle-stimulating hor-mone(FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol (E2)before and after treatment were tested. Results Among these 43 pa-tients with adenomyosis,the value of liver function(ALT and AST),blood lipid(TC,HDL,LDL)and serum sex hormone level (FSH,LH and E2)before and after therapy all belonged to normal limits,and there was no statistical difference pretherapy and post-treatment. Conclusion LNG-IUS has no influence on liver function,blood lipid metabolism or serum sex hor-mone levels,it is high in safety.关键词
